Bosch in Portugal is a subsidiary of the Bosch Group, one of the largest private industrial companies worldwide.
The Bosch Group operates in various areas such as automobile technology, automation technology, metals technology, packaging technology, power tools, thermotechnology, appliances, security systems and broadband networks.
The Bosch Group and 92% owned by the foundation Robert Bosch is in charge of
philanthropic activities and social as stipulated by its founder, widening their targets to
correspond to the modern society. The Foundation uses its funds to support inter-cultural activities of social character and medical research.
In 2008, the business volume in the group level stood at 45.1 billion euros with around 280,000 employees.The weight of investment in research and development remained high: 3,9 one thousand millions of euros.
In Portugal, the Bosch Group in 2008 had a turnover of 765 millions euros,
employing 3576 employees in six companies owned 100% by the Group Bosch: Bosch
Termotechnology SA, Portugal Bosch Car Multimedia, Robert Bosch, S.A., Robert Bosch Brakes, Portuguese Motometer, Robert Bosch Security Systems and BSHP Appliances, company resulting from an association in which Bosch and Siemens holds equal shares.
